We recommend testing PREVAGE® MD behind the ear or inside of the elbow to ensure your skin responds to this product effectively (no signs of redness). Once the test has been completed over 3 days with a small half-pea amount/day in the testing areas, then begin treatment slowly.
Initially, the first week of this product should be introduced every other day with a pea-sized amount spread on the face and neck after cleansing routine. Week two, prevage can be used every day with the same pea-size amount spread over face and neck once per day. Week three, you can build up to applying Prevage every morning and evening. The recommended order of application is as follows:
3. apply PREVAGE® MD
5. apply sunscreen *
6. apply make-up if desired
In just 4 weeks PREVAGE® MD has been clinically shown to reduce the signs of skin aging. This antioxidant product has been shown to be more effective for Environmental Protection Factor to correct skin damage and protect your skin from environmental stressors compared to other antioxidants such as, kinetin (found in Kinerase®), coenzyme Q10 (found in products such as Q10 Advanced Wrinkle Reducer products from Nivea®), lipoic acid (found in N.V. Perricone M.D. Cosmeceuticals®), vitamin C, and vitamin E (both found in many anti-aging products).
PREVAGE® MD is the only product that contains 1% Idebenone and is only available from your physician. Idebenone is a super antioxidant molecule that deeply penetrates and neutralizes internally generated free-radicals; while also blocking and scavenging environmentally generated free radicals.
Please note that PREVAGE® MD should be applied with sunscreen to shield the skin from harmful rays.
What is the difference between PREVAGE® MD anti-aging treatment and AHA's (alpha-hydroxyl acids):
AHA are derived from fruits, sugar cane, and sour milk and are included in the ingredients of a variety of skin products for exfoliant use by helping the skin shed the outmost layer to enhance the appearance of smoother less wrinkled skin. However, exfoliants then expose the skin to harmful environmental stressors such as UV light and pollution. Unlike AHA exfoliants PREVAGE® MD protects the skin from acid environmental hazards such as UV, ozone, and cigarette smoke. It also works as a more sophisticated treatment from the derivative ingredient idebone which released free radicals in the cells of your skin to prevent inflammation of the skin surface which prevents the deepening of fine lines from occurring.
Dr. fortune specializes in anti-aging management and encourages his patients to combine PREVAGE® MD skin treatment with a healthy alkaline diet of unprocessed foods, hydration with quality ionized water, limited exposure to the sun's harmful rays, vitamin supplements (vitamin C, E, Selenium, Zinc, Flax seed oil); and avoidance of caffeine, sugar, and alcohol to optimize skin's radiance.
